Why Us?
Caring for people with a dementia care need and caring for people with a general elderly care need.
We have a Variation of Registration which enables us to admit up to 36 residents with dementia care needs as well as caring for people with a general elderly care need. We recognise that there is an increasing need to provide accommodation for people diagnosed with dementia. The majority of our nurses and care staff have undergone training in how to care for people with dementia, they have also received a programme of training in challenging behaviour dementia care and activities and orientation that will be beneficial to these particular residents.
In addition to dementia care awareness, our aim is for all Carers to be trained to NVQ 2 level in dementia care.
Staffing levels are adjusted accordingly to meet the needs of these residents. Further risk assessments of the home are carried out to meet the needs of each individual diagnosed with dementia. We believe that having dementia doesn’t stop you from leading a full and active life!
